Under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor, the Academic Registrar assumes responsibility for various academic affairs. The Academic Registrar's office is entrusted with several important responsibilities, including:

  1. Admission: Managing the admission process by receiving and processing applications, conducting selection procedures, and issuing admission letters to successful candidates.
  2. Curriculum Development: Collaborating with faculty members to develop, implement, and review the university's curriculum, ensuring compliance with quality standards and fostering continuous improvement.
  3. Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies: Overseeing both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supporting registration procedures, monitoring academic progress, and facilitating student learning and research activities.
  4. Examination Management: Coordinating the administration of examinations, setting schedules, ensuring fair conduct, overseeing the grading process, and maintaining accurate records of students' academic performance.
  5. Research and Publication: Supporting research endeavors and facilitating the dissemination of research findings by faculty and students, thereby fostering a research culture within the university.

The Academic Registrar's office is structured as follows:

  1. Academic Registrar: As the head of the office, the Academic Registrar reports directly to the Vice Chancellor and holds overall responsibility for academic matters.
  2. Deputy Academic Registrar: Ms. Rehema Eton, the current Deputy Academic Registrar, provides assistance to the Academic Registrar. She is situated at the faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science in Arapai.
  3. Assistant Academic Registrars: To ensure effective representation across all six campuses of Busitema University, an Assistant Academic Registrar is appointed for each campus. These individuals collaborate closely with the Academic Registrar and handle campus-specific academic affairs.
  4. Admissions and Student Records Section: This section, overseen by Mr. Ivan Mugabi, manages the admission process, maintains student records, and offers support to students regarding their academic needs.
  5. Teaching, Learning, Examination Management, and Curriculum Development Section: Mr. Willy Kisaka oversees this section, which focuses on curriculum development and review, examination management, and providing support for teaching and learning initiatives.
